First, park the working car close to the dead car, ensuring both batteries are within reach of the jumper cables. Both cars should be in "Park" with the engines off. Next, start the working car and let it run. Now, connect the jumper cables—first, attach one red clamp to the positive terminal (+) of the dead battery, then connect the other red clamp to the positive terminal (+) of the charged battery. After that, attach the black clamp to the negative terminal (-) of the charged battery. Finally, attach the other black clamp to an unpainted metal surface on the dead car, away from the battery. Let the working car run for a few minutes, then try to start the dead car. If it starts, remove the cables in reverse order. Keep your car running for at least 20 minutes to recharge the battery. If your car doesn’t start or you’re unsure why the battery died, call us at David's Automotive Repair for further help at 972-625-1836. Have a blessed day!
